Turkey is brining, peanut butter balls, broccoli casserole and carrot casserole are made. Clif is remodeling the kitchen as we speak. Why is he doing this I don't know. I asked something and panicked and then got yelled at so here I am. I am staying in another room until its over.
I am officially drinking. I earned it, I worked out today...weights and cardio. Plus all the cleaning and cooking surely burned off another bottle or two. ;)
Sigh. Casey alas did not get bathed. People will have to deal. I work for a living and had 1 day to throw this thing together. I think I did a pretty good job.
By the way, our friend came down from Syracuse last weekend and may move down here. I'm very hopeful, but it would be a shock to his system I think. Visiting is one thing, living it is another.
Plus people always say, "oh, I would like to move here". Then they go home and regain their sanity. We've all done it. I think at least he enjoyed the trip whether he moves or not and it was nice to see a friendly familiar face from my other life. The sane life. The one where I was a human and a woman, not just an associate and "wife". That's not fair to some people, but sometimes it is how I feel. Oh, to open a bookstore.
ANYWAY.
You would be surprised (or maybe you wouldn't) how hard it is to brine a turkey when you do not have a proper sized pan. I have somewhat successfully stuffed a 15 lb turkey into a 10-12 lb container. I have to baste the top every hour, but it beats buying a new container at the last minute.
I think Hera was laughing at me earlier. She was all too gleefully watching me push and shove on the poor departed turkey. Then again it's probably actually lucky it was not alive for that, or maybe I'm lucky it wasn't alive.
Do turkeys have spurs like chickens?
