Well it is 4 days and counting until I will be on a plane to San Francisco and then on another plane to Australia. I have two whole weeks without the office. I won't have to see the little red VM light or wonder what the "voice" has to say this time. No sitting in the bosses office in silence sweating and thinking, "If I just passed out it would be over".
The "voice" is a running joke in our office. The "voice" tells you to do things and you do what the "voice" tells you to. Immediately.
Anyway, back to Australia. I am going to visit a law school friend who is lucky enough to have a work visa there. She's homesick and I have the southern lawyer's version of cabin fever. I need out...NOW.
I have most everything I need now and just need time to pack. I hope all goes well. The girls have reservations at the doggy spa and the kitties shave a pet sitter coming.
By the way, my beloved casey monster has been diagnosed with Lyme Disease. No idea when or where she picked up the tick. I have not seen one on her this year. I've found plenty on clif. Maybe he picked one up and gave it to her?
I got a real laugh out of what my "Australian" friend said, "Wouldn't it be nice if she could say, 'Mom, Clif gave me a tick and now I don't feel well.'"
She's in antibiotics. Hopefully, it hasn't progressed very far and this will cure it.
