First Court Appearance

Well,

My first day in court. A motion hearing. I got it postponed, but I feel bad.

Opposing counsel threw a hissy in the hallway of the court building saying I misrepresented what his secretary had said to me. He actually yelled at me. He also said I was ignorant and did not know what I was talking about and to "run along little girl". Yeah, end of conversation.

I find this curious. We were there because the judge told us to try and work this out and save our clients some money. My client has issue but would drop his client if they were met. I do not understand this behavior. If I had done something inappropriate I beleive the judge would have scolded me and I believe the other attorney could have been at least polite. I do not think this behavior an indication of anything but rudeness and a soreloser.

Did I mention this guy is older than dirt? As in over 60 years old and still in practice.

I know that I did not intentionally misrepresent anything, I stated what I understood her to be saying. It is unfortunate that it came out in open court, however I felt backed into a corner.

Anyway, my first court appearance ended with a win, but me feeling like a very bad person, even though I do not beleive I did anything wrong.

What happened to the I don't care attitude I used to have? I never cared what anyone thought of me. Sigh.

Screw that guy! He is old and obviously a sore loser. Plus, it probably rubbed him the wrong way for a younger woman to one-up him.
